Back to School Registration
The back to school registration for current students and new student enrollment will again be conducted online through the parent portal for the 2020-21 school year. Registration will be open at 8 a.m., Monday, August 3, 2020. The deadline to complete registration will be Friday, August 7. Parents can access and complete all forms online, from the parent portal. If you do not have access to the parent portal, you may contact the building offices, August 3. A link to the parent portal will be provided on the bisonpride.org website and sent out to families August 3.
For families that are enrolling for the first time and parents of preschool and kindergarten students who did not complete the screening process, they will access a Quick Registration Form from our www.bisonpride.org website. Once our office receives the completed Quick Registration Form, a district employee will contact the parents with their Parent Portal information so the family can complete the forms on the Parent Portal.
Parents of preschool and kindergarten students who completed the screening process last spring, will complete the back to school enrollment. Parents of preschool and kindergarten students who did not complete the screening process will complete the new student enrollment by accessing a Quick Registration Form from our www.bisonpride.org website.
Don’t have Internet access at home? No, problem. There will be registration stations setup for your use at the high school, middle school, and elementary buildings, August 4-5, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Contact a building office if you need additional help.
School supply lists for elementary and middle school students can be found on the bisonpride.org website and attached to the email with this message. Local Honeysuckle Road Boutique owner, Sammi McCleary and BPMS teacher, Julie Thomas have initiated a project to collect local donations to sponsor classrooms of school supplies. Some classrooms have already been sponsored. The project continues to collect donations to hopefully cover all classrooms from PK-8th grade. You will find a list of classrooms sponsored on the bisonpride.org website. Parents will find out their children’s teachers after completing the back to school registration beginning August 3. If you or your business would like to donate to the project, supplies and/or monetary donations can be dropped off at Honeysuckle Road Boutique, 1336 S. Ash Street, Buffalo, MO.
Two questions we've been receiving lately are: how do we return items to school? And, how do we get our student's personal belongings from school. Both are good questions. First, beginning Monday April 20th families will be able to return student assignments, library books, etc to Mallory. A black tote will be placed in front of the school doors, under the awning from 8-3pm Monday - Friday. Clearly mark your student and teacher's name on the item so it is returned to the right place.
Second, Mallory student's personal items, including yearbooks, will be available for pick up May 4 -8th, from 8:00 - 3:00 in the FEMA building. Parents should park in the south parking lot and enter through the exterior FEMA doors. Teachers and staff will be available to assist. If you need additional assistance from the office or health room staff, please use the building main doors and an office staff member will be available to help.
Finally, Preschool families are invited to come to the preschool anytime between 8:00-3:00 May 4 & 5th to pick up their student's personal items. A photographer will also be on site to take student graduation pictures for interested families. A cap and gown will be made available. Photo packages are $5.00 and include a choice of either - 1 - 5x7, & 2 - 3x5s, or 1- 5x7, & 4 wallets. (exact cash or check only, please)
Unfortunately Gearing Up for Kindergarten has been cancelled due to the recent COVID-19 situation. The Kindergarten teachers have developed a website for future Kindergarten students and their families to review to access the same information that they would receive at the Gearing Up event. Please visit Gearing Up for Kindergarten
Dallas Co R-1 School District recently hired two new Parent's as Teacher's Educators. They will begin reaching out to families at the end of the month to start home visits in October.
