Welcome to D.A. Mallory Elementary. Our elementary school is home to over 600 enthusiastic students and to more than 70 dedicated teachers and support staff. Our school is a Kindergarten through 4th grade building with an Early Childhood Center located on our campus. We offer part-time preschool services, Parents as Teachers education, a Gifted Student Program, Title I Intervention services, after-school programming, and a variety of other enrichment opportunities for our students and families. Dallas Co R-1 School District recently hired two new Parent's as Teacher's Educators. They will begin reaching out to families at the end of the month to start home visits in October. Look for additional information on this website as well as the Dallas County Schools Parents as Teachers Facebook page.
We are very excited to start a new year and to see all of the Mallory students. We'd like to help with the busyness of the new year by providing some information regarding Parent Pick Up. Mallory will continue to use one to one devices to integrate technology into our lessons. Students showed engagement and creativity in their classes last year. We look to offer new and exciting lessons while maintaining classroom traditions that are effective for all students.
SW-PBS - Mallory will be entering its third year as a Positive Behavior Support school. We’ve seen many gains in student behavior and are encouraged by the student expectations of being respectful, responsible and proactive.
Mallory Welcomes New Staff
Mallory is thrilled to have Mrs. Shondra Collins join our school family as the new Assistant Principal. Collins brings a lot of energy and experience to Mallory. She says she is excited to meet the students and families, and hopes to learn from the staff.
New teachers to Mallory include - Hannah Noteware to the Kindergarten team, Sarah Porter as a third grade teacher, in fourth grade we welcome Melody Burchfield and Nicole King, Sarah Albright and Maranda Dalton will join the Special Education team and we welcome Katie Dansby as our new school guidance counselor.
Student MAP Score Release
The elemenaty school has received student Missouri Assessment Program scores and student performance reports. Parents can pick up their students' scores at Parent Teacher Conferences October 24th along with their students' 1st quarter report card. Parents who are unable to attend parent teacher conferences will have their students' scores mailed home. Also, let me remind you to complete your child's back to school registration by Friday, August 9. Registration can be completed online. You can find the link on the bisonpride.org website. Open house at all school buildings will be Tuesday, August 20 from 6-8 p.m. and the first day of school is August 22.
Back to School Registration and New Student Enrollment
The back to school registration for current students and new student enrollment will again be conducted online through the parent portal for the 2019-20 school year. Registration will be open at 8 a.m., Tuesday, July 23, 2019. The deadline to complete registration will be Friday, August 9. Parents can access and complete all forms online, from the parent portal. If you do not have access to the parent portal, you may contact the building offices, August 1. A link to the parent portal will be provided here July 23.
Parents of preschool and kindergarten students who completed the screening process last spring, will complete the back to school enrollment. Parents of preschool and kindergarten students who did not complete the screening process will complete the new student enrollment.
For families that are enrolling for the first time and parents of preschool and kindergarten students who did not complete the screening process, they will access a Quick Registration Form from our www.bisonpride.org website. Once our office receives the completed Quick Registration Form, a district employee will contact the parents with their Parent Portal information so the family can complete the forms on the Parent Portal.
Don’t have Internet access at home? No, problem. There will be registration stations setup for your use at the high school, middle school, and elementary buildings, August 6-7, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Contact a building office if you need additional help.
