• DCR1 Closed Thursday, January 20 and Friday, January 21, 2022

It is unfortunate that we have had to make the decision to close our Dallas County Schools on Thursday and Friday (January 20 and 21) of this week due to rising ÇOVID-19 numbers.  We have reached a point with positive staff cases where we cannot staff our classrooms, our kitchens, nor our school buses to be able to keep our schools open.  We will continue to evaluate our numbers and I am hopeful this will be the only closure we need to take.  These two days are AMI days.  I sincerely apologize that we have to take this measure.
    Stay healthy and safe!

  • Revised Safe Return to In-Person Instruction and Continuity of Services Plan
The DCR1 Board of Education reviewed and approved a revised Safe Return to In-Person Instruction and Continuity of Services Plan Monday, December13. The revised plan is attached to email sent along with this message and posted on the website. The changes to the plan include removing any references to DHSS or the local health department, and no longer quarantining close contact students (we will continue to notify their families). Under state statute we are still required to quarantine or exclude from school anyone with a communicable disease including COVID. This is a statute which has been in place for many years. These changes will be effective January 4, 2022.

  • Test to Stay Protocol

If a student is identified to be exposed to a Covid positive, parents will be contacted to determine whether the parent wants to participate in the Test to Stay option. Parents can give permission for their student to be tested three time within the next seven days and stay at school with negative results and wearing a face covering. If a parent chooses to not have their child tested, the student will quarantine for 10 days. Covid tests can be administered in the school nurses offices free of charge. If you have questions, you may contact your child’s school building.
