  • Thanksgiving Message from DCR1
    Dear DCR1 families and staff,
As we enter into the holiday season in the era of COVID-19, we want to remind everyone that the Dallas County R-I School District is making every effort to keep our schools open for in-person learning.  We know the spread of COVID-19 is primarily occurring in our community and not within our schools.  Therefore, we remind everyone that an increase in COVID-19 cases from holiday gatherings could force us to no-longer be open for in-person classes. Please be mindful of COVID-19 and COVID-19 precautions while enjoying your holiday activities.

To further ensure we keep up with necessary precautionary measures in the District all students at Buffalo Prairie Middle School, Buffalo High School, and Dallas County Technical Center will be required to wear face masks or face shields at all times during the school day when inside our buildings or on district provided transportation.  We recognize there will be some situations where this is not possible (lunch, PE, etc.); however, we have to place the safety of our students and staff as a high priority.

Enjoy the holiday weekend! Dr. Tim Ryan, Superintendent

Trauma Informed: Parents and Caregivers Resource Guide
The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) requires school districts to share trauma informed resources with parent and caregivers. This resource guide is for you: the parents and caregivers of children navigating the
impacts of toxic stress and trauma. There are great tools and resources that already exist about how to support young people, so this will include helpful links to external resources, as well as key points that are essential for all parents and caregivers to know. This guide can also be found on the bisonpride.org website on the Parents Channel.
