School Safety

The School Resource Officer (SRO) provides security and safety support for the staff, students, programs and activities at the elementary, middle and high schools, as well as the Dallas County Technical Center. The officer also provides a variety of educational resources to the school community, ensures a safe and secure environment for students and staff, maintains supervision and order, and provides law enforcement information and direction to students, parents, teachers, and school personnel. The SRO is commissioned by the Dallas County Sheriff's Department and works closely with the DCSO and the school district.
