ASE Certified Automobile Technician
The first time I spoke with Mr. McDaniel, the Automotive Tech I teacher, over 11 years ago, and he was asking me what I might think of teaching. The first thing that he shared with me was his personal goal when it came to his expectation for every student to ever take a seat in his class. That goal was that each of them evolves into "productive product of society". Of course, he explained how he also wanted to teach them all about the automobile industry, and how cars "work" and how to repair them, and so on and so forth... but most importantly was, that they become productive.
He instilled in me the theory that you can have the best Automotive Tech in the world, who can fix every problem, on every car in record time, and at minimal cost. But, if you can't trust them, and they are not honest, and you can not take them at their word and they are not hard working members of our community, who puts forth the effort to provide for themselves and make this world a better place, well then... it is all for not.
This is because as a community, we can accomplish so much more than we can as individuals.
