Our district has a very bright future and our students will absolutely benefit from the continued progress in DCR1.
The progress that has occurred over the last few years can now continue and we will be able to address our facility needs to give our students the best possible start on their futures. Many of the decisions for next budget year have yet to be made, but I am optimist about us continuing to improve our student achievement, our continued improvements in staff pay, and our continued facility improvement. Thank you voters of the Dallas County R-I School District.

The DCTC project is currently on time and within budget. We did hit a significant amount of rock on the site during excavation; however, we also have had some savings from some parts of the project coming in under budget. The substantial completion date remains May 27, 2021. Next week, Dewitt Construction plans to pour the slab floor on the East end of the building. After the slab has cured for 4-7 days they can begin the assembly of the Pre-engineered Metal Building which comprises the classes with workshops on the North side of the new building.
